Help

SafeShare removes common tracking parameters from links locally in your browser. This page explains what it does, what it doesn’t do, and what to try if a cleaned link fails.

SafeShare is link hygiene before sharing. It does not make you “invisible”.

Quick answers

What gets removed?

Typical tracking keys such as utm_*, gclid, fbclid, msclkid, igshid, and a few common analytics/newsletter keys.

SafeShare focuses on “safe to remove in most cases”. Some parameters are functional or intentional.

When should I NOT remove everything?

Some parameters are functional (filters, product variants, language, session handoff), or intentional (affiliate/ref tags). If removing breaks the destination, keep it.

If a cleaned link fails, open the original and compare. A removed parameter was likely functional.

Does SafeShare stop tracking completely?

No. Sites can still log IP/time/user-agent, use cookies, fingerprinting, or account-based tracking after you open the page. SafeShare mainly removes “extra labels” on links before you share them.

Safari / iOS tips

Paste doesn’t work sometimes

iOS/Safari can restrict clipboard access. Tap inside the input field and use the system “Paste”. If the app cannot read clipboard automatically, the Paste button will show a hint.

Share button missing

The Share button appears only if your browser supports navigator.share. If it’s not available, copy the cleaned link and paste it into WhatsApp/Signal/Mail/Slack.

Best practice

Copy link → open SafeShare → paste → clean → copy → paste into the app you want to share in. For “one tap” access, add SafeShare to your home screen or bookmark it.
