SafeShare Images

Share images. Keep private details to yourself.

Understand what information is contained in your images before you share them.

Local. No upload. Under your control.

But before the image leaves your device, it can contain information that has nothing to do with the subject. Most people only see the photo. SafeShare Images makes the rest visible – clearly, locally, and before you decide.

SafeShare Images is in preparation. This page describes how it will work – without a finished tool yet.

A photo shows more than its subject

A photo can contain more than the visible subject – for example the time it was taken, the device used, or, if it was saved, location data too.

None of this is visible in the image. Yet it can travel along when you share it.

Many people don't know this information even exists. Even fewer know which of it is actually passed on.

SafeShare Images shows you exactly that – not to scare you, but so you can decide consciously.

What an image can contain

Depending on the device and editing, an image file can hold more than the subject:

  • When – date and time the photo was taken
  • With what – camera, smartphone, lens, capture settings
  • How edited – software used and editing steps
  • Where – the location via GPS, if it was saved
  • More – copyright, author, descriptions

Technically these extra data are called EXIF, IPTC or XMP. You don't need to remember that: SafeShare Images translates every entry into plain language – no jargon, no prior knowledge.

How SafeShare Images works

  1. Choose an image – directly on your device.
  2. See and understand – SafeShare shows you every piece of information it contains and explains in simple words what it means.
  3. Decide and share – keep what you want to keep, remove the rest, share the clean image.

You decide anew for every image.

Your decision

SafeShare Images does not decide for you. You decide.

  • Which information do you want to keep?
  • Which do you want to remove?
  • Which image do you then want to share?

Digital self-determination begins with understanding.

Why everything stays local

Your images stay on your device.

  • No upload.
  • No cloud.
  • No analysis on external servers.

SafeShare never sees your photos. Because your images belong to you – and to no one else.

Our stance

Data is part of the digital world. Without it, the digital world doesn't work. But that doesn't mean every piece of information has to travel everywhere.

We believe: people should be able to understand what they share – not out of distrust, but because a conscious decision is better than a blind one.

SafeShare Images is in preparation

Soon you'll be able to check which additional information an image contains before you share it. Explained clearly. Locally on your device. Without uploading to a cloud.

Until then, you can already use SafeShare for clean links.

Understand. Decide. Share.
