A photo can store where it was taken. This location data is not visible in the image, but can be shared with the file.
SafeShare checks the selected file for readable location data. On request it creates a new file without detected GPS data and checks the result again.

Not every photo contains a stored location. SafeShare therefore does not claim in advance that GPS data is present.
First, the selected file is checked. Then you decide:
The original remains unchanged.
Open SafeShare Images and select one JPEG or PNG file.
If location data was reliably read, it appears under “Location”.
SafeShare can also show camera model, capture time or orientation.
Incomplete or contradictory information is not completed into a location.
Choose “Clean for sharing”. SafeShare creates a new file without detected GPS, capture and device information.
The new file is checked again locally. If GPS was reliably detected in the original and is absent in the result, the proof says:
Location data (GPS): not included
Only then is the result file offered for saving.
When selecting a photo, your device may provide a copy that already lacks location data.
SafeShare checks only the selected file. The original in your photo library may still contain the location.
SafeShare does not only say that cleaning ran. The result file is read and checked again.
Checksums and method versions remain available through “Show technical details”.
SafeShare does not examine visible image content.
Before sharing, also check what is directly visible in the image.
SafeShare Images currently processes individual JPEG and PNG files. Checking and cleaning run locally in the browser.
HEIC and HEIF are not currently processed directly.
Some devices automatically provide a selected photo as JPEG. SafeShare can check that JPEG, but it may not contain the same location data as the original in the photo library.
No. A location is stored only when the device was allowed to record it and the data remained when the file was saved or shared.
Select the photo in SafeShare Images, check the finding and choose Clean for sharing if location data was detected.

SafeShare first shows which readable extra information was found in the selected file. Then you decide whether a cleaned copy is created.
