SafeShare is a local-first web app that removes typical tracking parameters from URLs
(e.g. utm_*, fbclid, gclid).
The cleaning happens in your browser.
Short version: SafeShare does not receive your links. There is no server-side processing of your URLs.

2) What SafeShare processes
When you use the app, your browser processes:
- The URL you paste into the input field
- The derived “clean” URL after removing tracking parameters
- (Optional) In-session counters such as “links cleaned” (if enabled on the page)
This processing happens locally on your device.
3) What SafeShare does NOT do
- No upload of URLs to a SafeShare server
- No server logs of your URLs (there is no endpoint to receive them)
- No user accounts
- No cross-site tracking by SafeShare
Important: “local-first” does not mean “invisible on the internet”. When you open a target link, the target site can still log typical connection data.
4) What target websites still see
Even with a cleaned URL, the website you open may still process personal data, for example:
- IP address, time, user agent and request headers (standard web server logs)
- Cookies or account-based identifiers (if you are logged in)
- Fingerprinting and tracking scripts on the target website
- Redirect chains that may add new parameters again
5) Local storage (if present on the page)
Some SafeShare pages may store small amounts of data locally (e.g. in sessionStorage) to show
in-session impact counters. This is:
- Stored only in your browser
- Not sent to SafeShare
- Cleared when you reset it (and often when you reload, depending on the page)
6) Emails / support
If you contact us via email, your email provider will process metadata and content.
We will use your message only to respond and provide support.
7) Your rights
Under applicable privacy law (e.g. GDPR), you may have rights such as access, rectification, deletion,
restriction, objection, and data portability where applicable.
Because SafeShare does not receive your URLs and does not run user accounts, requests typically relate only to communication via email.
